Focus Edumatics is seeking online tutors to join our growing freelance tutor community across Math, English, and Science. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help and guide K-12 students in the United States by delivering personalised instruction and academic support through chat-based sessions to create a nurturing environment. Strong time management, problem-solving, technical proficiency, and exceptional English written and verbal communication skills are essential to be successful in this position.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 1. Earn a minimum base pay of INR 200/- per completed session-hour. You can earn up to INR 80,000/- + per month based on the volume and quality of teaching sessions. 2. Work from home with a wide range of scheduled options depending on student needs. Guidance and support from experienced mentors can be accessed during session working hours. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Conduct engaging and interactive online tutoring sessions for US based K-12 students within 4 to 5 designated hours, (between 10 PM to 6 AM IST) through personalised learning plans based on students' grade level, needs, and academic goals. 2. Use various online teaching methods, tools, and resources to create engaging and effective learning experiences, adapting your approach as needed to help students improve. 3. Provide clear and effective instructions, guidance, and feedback to enhance students' comprehension and to provide information on future tutoring sessions. 4. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, including attendance, progress notes, and relevant information to deliver comprehensive progress reports. 5. Responsibility and ownership to connect with Team Leaders and mentors to review QA analysis, session KPIs, and overall performance to continuously improve yourself. 6. Perform any assigned or necessary additional duties as directed by your team leads or by the organisation. 7. Effectively use pre-prepared lesson plans, making real-time adjustments to meet the specific needs and learning pace of each student. 8. Thoroughly plan each session in advance to ensure a structured and comprehensive learning experience for students. 9. Track and document student progress and outcomes, reporting any significant issues to the relevant stakeholders. 10. Complete any required administrative tasks, such as session reporting and attendance tracking, in a timely manner. 11. Work collaboratively with other tutors and educational staff to share best practices and resources. ROLE REQUIREMENTS 1. Must have an undergraduate degree. 2. Be readily available for delivering 4 to 5 hours of sessions , Monday to Friday, preferably between peak business period 10 PM and 6 AM IST. 3. Fluent in English and a proven track record of mastery in their respective subjects like Math (Basic Math; Pre-Algebra; Algebra; Geometry; Trigonometry; Pre-Calculus; Calculus) or English Language Arts (English; Literature; Written Communication & Reading). 4. At least 1 year of teaching experience, either virtual or offline, with English as the primary language of instruction. 5. Possess a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute with 95% or higher accuracy. 6. Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 7. Candidates with the ability to use digital tools such as a digital whiteboard and pen-tabs to facilitate online teaching will be preferred. 8. Ability to make real-time adjustments and optimizations to pre-prepared lesson plans to suit individual student needs. 9. Efficiently manage time to cover all necessary material within the session duration. 10. Consistent availability and punctuality for scheduled tutoring sessions. 11. Knowledge of strategies to keep students engaged and motivated during online sessions. 12. Quick thinking and problem-solving abilities to address any issues or questions that arise during the tutoring session. JOINING REQUIREMENTS 1. Must complete 4 weeks of intensive certification training program (4 hours per day) 2. Must complete a background verification process and FBI fingerprint verification post onboarding. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Desktop or laptop: Intel i3/i5 or higher, Windows 10 or higher, Google Chrome or Firefox browser. 2. 8GB RAM or higher, CPU Core of 7300 pr higher, and 500 GB HDD or 120 GB SSD storage 3. Noise-cancelling headphones, microphone, webcam, second monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, and pen tablet. 4. Minimum 100 mbps broadband wired network. 25 mbps backup internet. Shared links are not allowed (e.g. PG, hostel, public Wi-Fi, or hotspots). 5.
